Sitting pon the wooden floor

Extinguished embers glow

About are strewn a history

Of peppered papered posts

A smile here a grimace there

The moments like a stream

Flow on before my memory

And leave me cold and weak

The wind streaks cold this winters day

As whispers fill the void

I'm looking back and seeing forth

Emotions not deployed

Lost longing just to understand

I want to see the why

Theres so much more I need to know

As welled up tears I cry

Why now is this pain coming hence over me

Why is this the cold where I'm left

Why am I the one who is holding to wisps

Why am I left always bereft

When will this become a life that's enriched

When can I be proud to be strong

When am I to know there's a future for me

Why am I left waiting so long

The dreams I thought of yesterday

The dreams with hopes I'd filled

Have left me reeling hanging on

The future dark and chilled

Theres a sadness all around me

As I fight to come to bear

I've a moment to right my heart strings

But my spark won't seem to flare

And I'm sitting here alone

And about the room I see

There are many more faces here

that are smiling back at me

I'm a cluster of my motions

I'm a product of my past

And it seems to me at the end of things

It really ain't half bad

And its true I'll be a lost possession

And I know they'll probably never see

But I know theres a place where I'm loved and so many who love me

So I stand and take the future in stride
