31 Years I’ve been singing

Peace on earth, good will to men

The ancient stories I’ve repeated

At 31 I think they’re finally sinking in

I have told it on the mountain

I have heard the angels sing

I’m no wise man but I’ve traveled from afar this word to bring

That in the midst of joyful tidings

And in silent nights as well

God is with us, Emmanuel

After years of bleak midwinters

Of wondering why it all exists

I still don’t have all of the answers

But there’s a trail of smoke, a thrill of hope relit

God is infinitely bigger than our minds can wrap around

And since we don’t speak Heavens language

God personified Himself
