Hope (Again)

Winter will fade away

Days they will lengthen

Carried on the song

That awakes the spring

Laughter will fill the air

Round the table

Where we’ll feast

Like the flowers after heavy rain

 

When joy comes in the morning

Don’t despise the tears that fell

They were no less holy

Sacred is our lament

 

He’s found in the wilderness

Where crows pick amongst the bones

That once stood proud

Now to dust return

Places of desolation

Every ruined city

He has not forgotten

He can build again

 

Wake, wake the sleepers

Time to rise up from the dead

When deep darkness covers you

Reach out for hope again

 

Winter will come again

Strip the fruit we worked to grow

Such are the dark times we must endure

Take heart, don’t lose yourself

Come bitter grief, come joy to the full

There’s one who weeps and laughs with you

No season that He doesn’t know
