I started hating holidays

Just as much as any other day I spend alone looking at old pictures on my phone

It’s been a rough few years

Sometimes I’ll walk past our old house

Just to feel the cracks under my feet

And everything else beneath me

They let your garden die

Everything you’ve grown

Has been ripped from the ground

How could you have known

It’s Halloween and you’re asleep

You’re passed out cold on the couch

The TV’s on, the lights are on

But it feels like you’re not there

I’ve broken every window

In this whole goddamn place

Just to see if you would hear me

Just to see the look on your face
