I was once on top of the world

I could touch the sun

Feel its warmth

Once my once frozen skin

It was nice

To feel good for a while

I could bask in its light

All the day long

Never mind the risk of skin decay

The sun can hurt subtly

If you stand in its rays for too long

The glittering snow on this mountain top slowly starts to melt away

It evaporates into nothingness

In my bed, a comfortable retreat

A place to rest my head

But also wanting to see sunlight again

I stare at the ceiling

Its color reminds me of the snow topped mountains

Once in, I stay all day.

After many hours, I fall asleep

No shade for me and the snow to hide under
