Alive

She was born on a winter's day

As the snow was falling all around

Outside there was nothing but

Yesterday's newspapers blowing across the barren ground

Her mother said, one day you will be

A star of stage and screen

She couldn't help thinking

That this might be the best she would ever see

When she left that school her teacher said

You've got the whole world laid out in front of you

So she carried her books in her bag

And she trudged her way back up that hill to home

And wait for the prince to come
