Didn’t know how good we had it

There was peace for so long

But everything bends on an arc

Here comes the dark

Should have been celebrating

When we had the chance

Guess that wasn’t very smart

I was busy sleeping

Thinking I was safe

My head it was a bullseye mark

Ignorance is blissful

It happens to be true

But I can see the circling sharks

People getting meaner

Threatening revenge

We hoped that it was just a lark

Can’t say there weren’t warnings

To this new attack

The vicious bite after the bark

For those who see the nighttime

Coming for the light

Someone has to make a spark

Cuz here comes the dark

It’s getting pretty late now

Maybe it’s best to rest

Need to be fresh and sharp
