The Gilded Lullaby

Once our vast woodlands were feral and free

The Serpent King ruled, 'tween his cunning teeth

Then from far-off shores, four alchemists came

With hope and tribute, in peace so they claimed

'Neath the King's fanged reign, they spun webs of gold

Bestowing sweet gifts, they longed for control

With weapons so grand, the King had to cede

His land to the Four, though some call them thieves

One Alchemist loomed, named Landen Ryker

And hailed Deja, a bird of grim fire

The King's right-hand knight, she smote all with ease

But not bold Ryker, a bond they did seize

Theirs was a concord forged through baneful light

Racing 'tween the stars with such iron might

Dawn saw only them, phoenix and rider

The first pair in lore, Deja and Ryker

O'er years the rider and knight soared up high

Bound by true valour, legends of the sky

But below the tides, sea-monsters dwelled deep

And dragged Ryker down, a trusting soul reaped

Above, Deja glimpsed his course 'neath the waves

She descended for his watery grave

Only fleeting breaths left ere he perished

She vowed to save him, her rider cherished

With talons so fierce, Deja clutched him tight

Spurning Ryker's end by a kraken's bite

She called a rebirth, sharing her god fire

And so became ash, reborn from the pyre

A harrowing end for any but lore

Deja chose to save the bravest of Four

With magic she swore, Ryker would live on
