Thumb on the glass, in the pale screen's glow

Another disaster, another new low

Headlines are screaming, the comments ignite

Trapped in the cycle, both morning and night

Outrage and anger, a digital flood

My cortisol's pumpin', it's in my own blood

Said I'd just check for a minute or two

Now hours have vanished, what else can I do?

Bad news buffet, standin' ten feet tall

Absorbin' the chaos, 'til I'm 'bout to lose it all

My mind is a blur, my eyes start to ache

Another bad take, for goodness sake

Politics, pandemics, and wars far away

Feel it all closely, at the end of the day

My own little problems, they start to feel small

Compared to the madness depicted for all

To see and to share, and to argue and fight

Is this information, or just digital blight?

My empathy's fraying, my spirit feels weak

Every swipe upwards, another bleak streak
