Where have you been?

I've been stuck at this threshold

Like an image of your waywardness

As it flashes before my eyes, your eyes of pure candour

I will wait at this threshold

As I wait for the showers

That bring me relief

Every June.

At the behest of this circle

You are being summoned to re-enter

Halfway, that's least

Last me this December

And then perchance you can leave again

After we say good-bye
