Summer was never meant to last forever

The desert pulls the city back into itself

As the gunslinger presses on

His footsteps are washed away by the wind

His boots struggling for air

In the dying afternoon light he sits

Is this all?

A cowboy without a horse, a man destined to live forever

He calls out to the mountains

Is there a new world beyond those rose colored hills?

For now he will rest his feet and dream of tomorrow

In the dying evening light the wind stirs

The desert lets out a sigh of relief

There's a beckoning voice beyond those rose colored hills

A dawn chorus

It calls back to the gunslinger as he drifts into sleep

If you listen closely you can hear it too

You could die tonight

It keeps going

Remember

Cowboys live forever
