It’s the same each week

Washing the hands that can’t linger

It’s crowding my words

And all the hairs in the sink spelling words to me

I can't remember life before it all

Circling the fear we held and as I listen

Do I do what I'm told? Or do I fall behind?

You fall out of the line

You try to catch it in time

You wanted it but you can’t catch up

Your holding onto a rope

Your talking all of the blows

You try to run but your crawling

You fall out of disguise

Your breaking words with your lies
