歌詞
You see, life got a way of surprising you
Just when you think you got everything figured out
It changes again
By then, I was 37 already
My music was still alive
The studio was still active
Business was moving
Money was being made
I had spent years building a life around
Creativity, hustle, and independence
And somewhere in the middle of that
I met somebody new
She was only 19
Young, energetic, full of possibilities
At first, everything felt exciting
Fresh, like a new chapter
Eventually, we moved in together
But life under the same roof
The studio remained part of my everyday world
Artists were still pulling up
Sessions were still happening
Dreams were still being chased
And for a while, things worked
Or at least they appeared to
But time reveals everything
The cracks started showing
Arguments, miscommunication
Broken trust, mistakes on both sides
Eventually, we found ourselves just living together
But no longer really together
And one thing I learned over the years is this
Sometimes a relationship doesn't end all at once
Sometimes it slowly becomes something else
And that's what happened to us
By the time the lease was nearing its end
We both knew the relationship had run its course
There wasn't much left to fight for
So instead of creating more chaos
We made peace
We agreed to coexist
Roommates instead of lovers
Giving each other space while waiting for the next chapter to begin
And during those final months
Something interesting happened
For the first time in years
I wasn't focused on fixing a relationship
I was focused on my future
Planning, thinking, evaluating
Asking myself a question I'd asked many times before
What's next?
And strangely enough, the answer kept showing up
Las Vegas
One of my closest friends had already moved out there
And every time we talked, he'd tell me the same thing
You need to come out here
At first, I brushed it off
Everybody says their city is the place to be, right?
Then another close friend of mine moved there
And he starts saying the exact same thing
Not rehearsed, not coordinated
Just the same message over and over
Las Vegas
Opportunity, growth, a fresh start
And the more I listened, the more it made sense
Oakland had been one chapter
Pittsburgh had been another
Each move had brought me closer to who I am becoming
Maybe the next move wasn't running away from anything
Maybe it was running toward something
Toward a bigger vision
Toward a larger market
Toward the next level
I start researching
Running numbers
Looking at possibilities
Studios, housing
Business opportunity
Entertainment, everything
And as each week passed
The picture became clearer
The lease wasn't ending
The chapter wasn't ending
And for the first time in a long time
I felt excited about what was ahead
Not nervous, not scared
I was excited
But deep down, I already knew
The Bay raised me
But my future might be waiting for me somewhere else
And every road sign in front of me
Seemed to be pointing to Las Vegas
