Brother, who gave you the stone?

Who told you Heaven made you judge on your own?

You speak like you know what the Father would say

While mercy is standing right there in your way

You point at the speck in somebody's eye

With a beam in your own that you're trying to hide

You know every verse that can cut like a blade when you need it

You call it conviction, but somehow compassion gets deleted

You talk about sinners like grace never covered your name

Like Calvary somehow was only for people who came without shame

You say, "God would never," like God handed you all of His answers

You draw little borders around who deserves second chances

But Peter denied Him, and still Jesus called him His own

So maybe be careful before you start throwing that stone

You know His Word

But do you know mercy?

You know what they did

But do you know their story?

Before you condemn

Before you decide

Ask God what is hiding inside

You call them unholy, too broken for Jesus to save now

As if there are stains that His blood cannot somehow wash out

You see what they are, but God sees what they still might become

You freeze them in chapters while He's still writing what's to come

Remember the woman they dragged through the dust for her sin

Everybody righteous until Jesus challenged them

One by one, every hand had to loosen its hold

Funny how quiet it gets when the sinless are asked for the stone

You know His Word

But do you know mercy?

You know what they did

But do you know their story?

With those we avoid

Touched the rejected

And listened to their voice

So if what we're preaching

Has no mercy or grace

Maybe we're speaking

With pride in His place

I've got my weakness

You've got yours too

I need forgiveness

Just like you do

Before we decide

Who Heaven will choose

Remember the cross

Was for sinners like you

Know His Word

But carry His mercy

Speak what is true

But love them completely

Before you condemn
