Artist Biography
TV anchor turned actor Ayushmann Khurrana boasts an impressive catalogue of film appearances. But he also doubles as a formidable singer, with a voice capable of taking the lead on Punjabi and Hindi ballads.
• Originally a radio host before hopping over to television reality shows, Khurrana got his acting break in 2012 with the thought-provoking film Vicky Donor.
• He also sang the Punjabi pop song “Pani Da Rang” for the soundtrack, winning a 2013 Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
• Khurrana displays a sublime and wistful voice on Punjabi singles like 2014’s “Mitti Di Khushboo”, 2016’s “Ik Vaari” and 2018’s “Chan Kitthan”.
• In 2018, the actor-singer teamed up with film-maker and wife Tahira Kashyap on the short film Toffee. He contributed “Bachpan”, a nostalgic song about childhood.
• Having established a charming on-screen persona, Khurrana taps into similar energy for songs like “Saadi Galli Aaja” from 2013’s Nautanki Saala!, “Nain Na Jodeen” from 2018’s Badhaai Ho and “Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho” from 2020’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
