Artist Biography
One of the most important drummers in British post-punk music, Peter Edward Clarke -- better known by his stage name Budgie -- is best known for his long tenure with Siouxsie and the Banshees, playing with the group from 1979 to 1996 when they earned an international reputation as leading stars in goth and alternative music. Budgie was also the co-founder with Siouxsie Sioux of the Creatures, fusing exotica and dance music; he was a member of the group from 1981 to 2004. Budgie has also worked with a wide variety of other artists as a percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, and began stepping out as a solo artist in collaborations with Jacknife Lee and Lol Tolhurst (2023's Los Angeles) and Thomas Truax (2023's Dream Catching Songs).
