Back In the Day

Back in the day when we was young My mother hadto storm through the weather She knew just what it takes To make our lives a little bit better Now things wasn't easy That's all I say to that But the things that I went through I learned a lot and that's a fact NowI know in life there's changes We have to move on But the memories last forever Just like a good old song Back in the day Back in the day My mother worked two jobs Then came home and made dinner And she never complained To me that's a winner Always food on the table And clothes on our backs She was a real strong woman And that's a natural fact Now I know time has changed And nothing stays the same I thank my Mum for giving me Her love and everything Back in the day, Back in the day Now when I look at things today How times have changed You know my mum's so proud Of the man I became Life is still not easy I still have hard times But the things my Mum told me Stays on my mind All I have is memories That's how I stay strong The memories that I have Will last my whole life long Every time I think about it I feel good about myself I just want to spread the news To everybody else Back in the day, Back in the day I wanna thank you Mama For being there for me I wanna thank you Mama
