Old Days on the Porch

Barrels in the backyard rot like debris Or are my torments gnawin' at me? One thing's for sure, now I'm a grown man kind of lost Mama told me I'm out of my depth As if I were plagued by troubled thoughts If god can hear me, I won't lead me there, this my shout I glance at my hands and I keep struggling Hang on to the rail as if I were faintin' Still alone on the porch, rain keeps fallin' The lone man feels closely spied on Without a care, I still get my water from the ground I see that black old lady everywhere And I can't get her out of my head She blurs my vision and bursts through my lungs Leave me breathless A heart full of sin, I can't get rid of it Forgettin' what I've learned, I am reeling Three long nights have passed and I keep on striving Maybe my mind's slowly givin' out But I swear when I saw the old lady comin' hope was gone She spits hate at me that I don't deserve Have I drunk a poisoned beverage? I don't think anyone will ever be there to answer me I can't keep track on time but I'm workin' on Hands on my watch just stopped moving A man of my age has no right to end up so alone Said I can't see daylight but I don't believe What the hooded woman is whispering Guess my fate is sealing on my rockin' chair And rye whiskey I suffer my old days on the porch and Try to get away from the noise Don't knew if it's real but I the threat's Beating down my door
