Wonder'n As the Days Go By

Now I've traveled lots of towns all these years on my own It seems by now I surely would have found somewhere to call home Instead of being on the highway all the time, I should be Lying in some woman's arms, somebody that loves me Now I've been needed and mistreated, Lord knows I've felt left out Lying under some interstate highway somewhere down south But that's alright by me, 'cause I'm happy for what I've done I guess I'll go on livin' and lookin' for whatever comes And just wonderin' as the days go by, my oh my Why it is that I just drift from town to town Wonderin' as the days go by, yes, I wonder why I ain't yet come to settle down Now I've looked for me a lady and there's one to yet be found Maybe she'll be somewhere down the line in some other town And maybe she'll be the right one, I don't know and I don't sometimes care But one thing I do know, before I die, I'll have had my share I'm just wonderin' as the days go by, my oh my Why it is that I just drift from town to town Wonderin' as the days go by, yes, I wonder why I ain't yet come to settle down Why I ain't yet come to settle down
