The Twilight Sad Essentials
Brooding post-rock that goes past the wall of noise and straight to the heart.
Artist Biography
With the gloomy swirl of the Interpol, et al '00s-post-punk-indie-rock wave, and distinguished by James Graham's heavy Scottish accent, an accordion, and oodles of noise, the Twilight Sad rose from Glasgow, Scotland, in late 2003. After building a rep for its live wall of sound, the foursome began to spread beyond the Scot border by mid-decade, landing at stalwart indie Fat Cat and earning strong reviews for a series of records which trended precipitously towards the darker, Nick Cave end of the spectrum.
