About Todd Snider
Todd Snider was the quintessential postmodern troubadour, a singer and songwriter whose slacker wit and cheerfully rumpled style was an entertaining counterpoint to the plainspoken wisdom of his songs. While he scored a minor hit with "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues" from his 1994 debut album, Songs for the Daily Planet, he found his most loyal audience in the contemporary folk scene and the jam band community, where he was embraced as a John Prine for the postmodern era. Snider's major-label period was brief, which gave him the freedom to let his freak flag fly on indie projects like 2008's Peace Queer, 2012's Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables, and 2016's Eastside Bulldog. The somber High, Lonesome and Then Some preceded his death in November 2025. Featuring songs he had sent to a friend just a month earlier, My Second Rodeo was released posthumously in 2026.
