Change Starts with Me

I see things in the world that I want to change.

A waterfall of problems that cause much pain.

I want to right the wrong of what I see.

And I realize change starts with me.

I want to be a shoulder to cry on,

For the one in need a helping hand,

Patient and respectful

And full of love for my fellow man.

Find someone who’s low in life

And help them up so they can see.

We can only get there when we realize,

I see an old man living on the street,

Without clean clothes or shoes on his feet.

And I’ve been blessed beyond my needs.

I need to help the man be what he can be.

I want to be a shoulder to cry on,

A light to shine the way,
