What I've Known

The colors come back to me drained by time

And over by the lake from sunlight I did hide

And in the morning I felt once more alone

And I could let you in if you wanted to come home

When the moon goes down the night I've known goes too

Then I lie and listen to the sounds that come with the dawn

I'm looking for any word to help me feel

Like I do belong but who will hear

And I flew out on the night and left behind

A body aching to know the reason why
