I've been spending my time on booze and guitars

ain't got a lot of money

ain't too far, from letting these damn dog days just do me in

my lady just left

truck shit the bed

been cutting it close to calling it quits

when the hell is all of this ever gonna give

and I've been spending my life running around

well the good Lord's loving ain't a dime a dozen

but He sure is taking His time on coming down with my bag of riches, ain't that the truth
