SAILORR specializes in smooth, pop-flavored R&B with frank lyrics laced with attitude and humor. The Vietnamese-American singer and songwriter (born Kayla Le) was involved with musical theater and considered taking that path further until she opted to pursue music. As Sailor Goon -- a play on the manga character Sailor Moon -- she made a name for herself with tracks and DJ mixes uploaded to SoundCloud. After the downcast "WEATHERED" was released as her first commercial single in 2023, SAILORR went viral in 2024 with the spiteful post-breakup ballad "POOKIE'S REQUIEM." The follow-up, "W1LL U L13?," showed more of her neo-soul influences, and was followed in early 2025 with a version of "POOKIE'S REQUIEM" assisted by fellow Floridian Summer Walker. "Cut Up," a conflicted slow jam, arrived shortly thereafter.
