It's the last day of term
I am never going to be
The beached sea creature they call me
For my EPQ I rehearsed a dance routine
Out of my depth in the shallow Pacific scene
My thoughts are overcrowded and unclear
There's only room enough
For two in here
On the last day of term
I was always going to see

My stare has scalded all your favourite clothes
All we share in common is we're better off alone
The youth centre turns me away
"We only harbour ships" they say
"And you're a wreck"
I just hold my breath
I just swim
