Not long ago I was smothered by

My job and some other things

Heavy head was filled with

Stresses that tomorrow brings

Just yesterday I realized

The days have start to float

And as i sat there silently

I began to note

I can hear the hum

Of the 60 Hz current

My thoughts would buzz like fluorescent bulbs

Left on too long in boarding school halls

Overpopulated and busy

Scattered from the city in suburban sprawl

Now the light's gone out and I feel alive

My head is just a skull

All the noise I hear now

It courses through my walls

Becomes an undertone

Undetected all the time
