The Moonstone and the Pearl

Before the birth of memory

A lonely Pearl lived by the sea

And as she gazed up at the stars

A Moonstone saw her from afar

He could not ever conceive

That beauty could exist as she

And at that point he'd made a plan

Someway somehow he'd win her hand

"Oh my Pearl it's destiny

To find you resting by the sea

If you'd look up then you would see

That you and I were meant to be"

"Oh my Pearl you know it's true

That I was meant to be with you

And though I live amongst the stars one day...

I will be with you…

I will be with you..."

And so one day it came to pass

The Moonstone and the Pearl at last

Found each other amongst the stars

Their love grew strong though from afar

But as it watched the Emerald sea

Became consumed by jealousy

And stole the Pearl from upon the shore

So Moonstone'd see her nevermore...

"Oh my Pearl since I found you

My whole worlds revolved around you

I'll light the darkest blackest night

To bring you back into my sight"

"Oh my Pearl how could it be

That you were stolen by the sea

And though it'd take eternity, one day...

I will be with you…

I will be with you…"

And so the Moonstone though afar

Trapped amidst the distance stars

Never ceased to work until

He reached out through sheer force of will

And so with ethereal hands

He swept the shores from sea to sand

So on and on for days and days

Creates the crashing ocean waves...

So if you hear a gentle tune

At times amidst the evening gloom

A melancholy aching croon

You'll see a man's face upon the Moon

Searching for his lost love still

Listen closely and you will

Hear him as he softly sighs he sings…
