We jumped off the wedding cake and into bed, held each other until we bled

Love was ever present and it just got better and better and better

Well to some ego's a dirty word and then to some it's something worse.

To them it's something so perverse, 'To think about yourself is so unhealthy,'

And it gets 'em upset and upsets their altruistic glow

But in my defence of my ego it makes good sense and it's widely known

To give to someone else you gotta have yourself or else it just melts away and you've got nothing

So don't lose your ego; you know you need your ego
