Oh Lord, can You hear me? Can You hear me when I bellow and moan? I am scared, I am lonely Is a man meant to do this alone? Oh Lord, are You listening? (Oh, Lord, are you?) Are You listening as I limp through this prayer? I have wandered without You And I wonder if You're really there If you are, will You prove that You care? Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah) Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah) Damn it, God, do You hear me? I can hear You when You do not reply (ah-ah) In Your silence, I confess I resolve You're a lie (ah-ah) I have sung of Your greatness with glorious praise (ah-ah) So where are You in the sorrows I suffer today? Is it true You are Love, prove to me it is so You took all I had and You separated Me from my world, and if You're not to blame Then I can't curse Your name, so curse all You've created Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah) Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah-ah ah-woo) You gave Job a home and You filled it with love and with life He raised sons and daughters and cherished and cared for his wife He cared for the hungry, he cared for the sickly and the poor And You took all from Job but gave back more than Job had before Shall I believe I'm as blameless and upright as Job That in 35 years I've no need to atone? I am not more than I have been But I'm more of myself than I've dared to have seen I have been what I've lost, I've not seen what I'll find So I pray every day, "Dear Lord, send me a sign That the reasons I suffer are Yours and not mine" Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah) Ah-woo-ah (ah-ah-ah-ah ah-woo) Reveal Yourself please, God, don't hide Yourself far from this globe I surrender, I have not the patience of Job Unto him You have gifted at least some reply Give me less, Lord, a sneeze to acknowledge my cry (Do You hear me? I can hear You when You do not reply) שמע ישראל (In Your silence, I confess I resolve You're a lie) השם אלוהינו (I have sung of Your greatness with glorious praise) השם אחד (Must I sing of a God who has cast me away) השם אחד Hallelujah! (If I'm to accept that the Lord God is One) Then praised be His name (but who then has given and taken away?) I am not more than I have been And the reasons I've suffered are yet to be seen Is it I or the Lord whom I must forgive For the man that I am and the ways that I've lived? And who shall be charged for the hell in which I live?
