It's okay to love a man, just choose the right one (choose the right one)

If you feel pain the whole time, he ain't the right one (he ain't the right one)

Look at his characteristics (look at), do he love his mama?

Do he take care of his children? (Do he take care of his children?)

How do he talk you 'bout his partners? (How do he talk?)

When you was pregnant, um, did he go with you to the doctor? (Did he go?)

When you was sad, did he care about your problems? (Did he care?)

Do he care enough to try and help you stop 'em? (Did he help?)

Do he say things to lower your self-esteem? (Tryna lower your self-esteem)

When you don't let 'em have his way

Don't let 'em change yo' life, get rid of all your friends (never do that)

And if you stay long enough, he gon' end up killing you in the end (he gon' kill you)
