Lyrics

"You or Somebody Like You" was another song that, uh, many of these
Songs were written with Blair and Troy, Blair Daly and Troy Verges
And, uh, many of them were written in the same two or three day
Period, believe it or not. Uh, it was just a very prolific couple of
Days. I had this title kicking around for quite a long time, uh, and
It was kind of a blues title, a blues idea. It's nothing like what
What came out, uh, in the end result, but we wrote this sitting in
Hyde Park. I actually have a photograph of us writing it, uh, just
Sitting. It was a nice day in London and, uh, we were sitting, uh
In the park, uh, with an acoustic guitar that we were carrying around
London. And, uh, so, uh, it made the record, uh, my record
Obviously, and, uh, soon after that, Keith Urban heard it. It was
Actually one of a couple of songs that were, uh, one of two songs
On this record that were my first cuts in Nashville, my first songs
Recorded by other artists there. And, uh, it went on his record
I think it's, I can't remember, I think it's "Be Here." Anyway, uh
He recorded it and put it on his record, "You or Somebody Like You
" The song, which is very strange because he had just had a huge hit
With a song called "Somebody Like You," uh, which was, uh, the titles
Are incredibly similar. But, uh, one of my favorite memories of this
Song was, uh, I actually ended up touring with Keith Urban. I did
Uh, one of his tours, which was mostly Canada, except for one gig
That was in London, uh, which, uh, of course brought me back to the
Place where I wrote it. But, uh, uh, he played at a fairly famous
Club, uh, in London called La Scala, which is, uh, very, it's, it's
Famous for some Beatles performances. It's an old building, it's
Beautiful. And he played there and I opened the show solo. Uh, so
Uh, that song was performed twice that night, which I thought was
Really cool. I did it in my opening set and then Keith came out and
Did it again. Uh, so that's one of my favorite memories of that song
