Lyrics

Jack is what we're dealing with
We dish it out and we have to take it
You see, people are afraid of pain
But I transcended the pain, Jack
Because
I found God at the bottom of a bottle
Talked to him, he told me my thinking's gotta be remodeled
There's a reason why I'm dealing with all of these problems
Because of me and how I keep thinking that I got this
But I don't, I'm broken, I just won't admit it
'Cause if there's one thing my father never raised, it was a quitter
I never gave up, but I became very lazy
As if I was accepting my fate, I can't explain it greatly
I was just floating, there's no way to word it well
One bottle turned to four, then eight turned to twelve
Stressed out, running fast, going nowhere
Struggling internally because I know they don't care
In my finest hour, I was fighting silent battles, climbing ladders
Tryna get away from the pressure that makes diamonds shatter
But the bullshit always follows
My emotions are uncontrollable, but they're genuine, yo, I promise
I need to change my ways of thinking
About myself, it's lame, I'm thinking negatively
Would it make a difference if I was living in a mansion?
Would my self-esteem be five times bigger than it has been?
Would I be a better person because of success?
And would I still have that same heart that pumps in my chest?
I had big plans and even bigger dreams
Until one day they were all blown to smithereens
It was a kick to the teeth, scarred ambition
I know some problems are just part of living, making hard decisions
Still in the starting position with no keys to the car ignition
Haunted by these thoughts and visions, it's why I started drinking
Forty-five degrees is always how the bottle's positioned
Feeling numb, but that's just how my body's conditioned
My mind is bleeding, time is fleeting
I want to rest, I kinda need it, I'm depleting
Am I depressed? Am I insane because I'm self-destructive?
Set in my ways to drinking seven or eight, help me function
What's my purpose, Lord? I'm looking for an answer
And I've been working hard on my personal advancement
But going nowhere, am I cursed to this life?
Am I a good person that deserves this shitty plight? Huh?
I need to change my ways of thinking
About myself, it's lame, I'm thinking negatively
Would it make a difference if I was living in a mansion?
Would my self-esteem be five times bigger than it has been?
Would I be a better person because of success?
And would I still have that same heart that pumps in my chest?
