Consoling Words

I know we both feel it you wear it on the outside

I conceal it and it keep it all out of sight

You tell me of the black core in you

And the abyss that you stand beside

Keep your head down and recite these words

There's nothing wrong with anything

No cure is immediate

It takes time to alleviate

And sometimes we manage

But most times we don't

You wear your scars well now

Like consoling words

I'm calm now shut down, spell out to me

Those simple words that comfort you

I have no voice left to sound it out
