Everybody’s being so nice

Nothing is wrong

Troubles have passed

Everybody’s civil and getting along

Will it last?

No matter how well things are going

No matter how happy we seem

Just below the pleasant chatter

We’re aware of a steady burn that’ll flare

We push it down
