I grew up in Mississippi, and it'll always be my home

I'm a Southern Belle to the core, and now I'm on my own

I won't forget playin' in the creek or buildin' forts with my brother

Singin' in the fair with my cousin or hangin' out with my stepmother

That was long ago, now it's time to go, and I don't know if I can

Well, maybe I should fly away from the nest

But it's really scary when I was raised by the best

I used to be my daddy's girl and my mama's world

I used to have so much hope

But I'm 25 now, gotta make them proud
